I’m so pleased you want to be an affiliate of Be a Freelance Blogger! This means you can point your friends and website visitors to my training courses, and earn yourself 50% of the tuition fee for every new student you send my way.
Here’s how this works:
- Fill out this online form to register as my affiliate.
- When it asks you for the “Company who asked you to sign up”, enter Be a Freelance Blogger
- When it asks you for the “Email of person who asked you to sign up”, enter me@sophielizard.com
- After you submit the form, your account will be reviewed by humans. This step takes a little time to complete, so be patient. 🙂
- Once it’s approved, they’ll email you private login details for your affiliate account so you can always see how much money you’ve earned and when your next payment is coming.
- They’ll also tell you your affiliate source code, which is a string of letters and/or numbers (usually, it’s the name of your business or blog).
- You can tag that code onto the end of any Be a Freelance Blogger URL — I explain how to do that a little further down this page — and if people who use your link end up registering for a training course, you’ll receive 50% of their tuition fee.
- You’ll have access to personalised support from my lovely affiliate manager, Bree Brouwer. So if you have any questions about being a BAFB affiliate, email bree@beafreelanceblogger.com and she’ll get back to you within 7 days.
- We’ll add you to our private “BAFB affiliates only” email list, which means you’ll get occasional emails from us with info about any special offers and promotions we’re planning, as well as tips to help you earn more money as an affiliate. (We won’t flood your inbox. You’ll probably only get an email from us once a month, and you can unsubscribe anytime without affecting your affiliate status.)
So, let’s talk about what you can send people to visit.
Be a Freelance Blogger
To send people to the blog homepage where they can read the latest posts or get a free copy of the Ultimate List of Better-Paid Blogging Gigs, use this link, but remember to replace the XXXXX at the end with YOUR affiliate source code:

This is your softest, no-pressure option — the people you refer to the homepage won’t see any “Buy Now!” buttons when they arrive, but they’re free to look around the site, sign up for email updates, and register for a training course if they like what they see.

How you get paid
You’ll receive your commission payments direct from my payment processor, FastSpring. After your account’s approved, they’ll ask you to (securely) send them the information they need to be able to pay you. Depending on where you live and what you’d prefer, you can have your earnings transferred direct to your bank account, receive the money through a third party service like PayPal, or use other methods.
If someone you referred requests a refund of their tuition fee, the system subtracts that commission from your account automatically. (We only receive a couple of refund requests per year, so you’ll probably never see that happen.)
The Rules
- Don’t try to use your affiliate links to buy the products yourself. Feel free to click your links to see that they work OK, but don’t actually complete the purchase!
- Don’t offer any money-back deals on purchases [such as “buy through this link and I’ll give you $10”].
- Do feel free to offer bonus gifts or good cause donations from you with purchases [such as “buy through this link and I’ll give you a free copy of my ebook, too” or “buy through this link and I’ll donate $10 to the Good Example Foundation’s Fund for Underprivileged Examples”].
If you need more information about any of this stuff, or you want to talk to us about a promotional idea, email bree@beafreelanceblogger.com. (Please allow up to 7 days for a reply; Bree’s a busy freelancer!)
